MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD
17th AUGUST 2021
PRESENT: Cllrs Attkins (Chair): Bradley; Tucker, Williams and Holiday

There was no official public session due to the meeting being held immediately following the Annual Public Meeting, however the member of the public wished to thank Cllr Bradley for all his work during his Chairmanship and also to ask about spraying weeds from vacant allotments. It was generally agreed that Cllr Tucker would discuss this with one of the allotment holders licensed to handle spray and upon receipt of invoice monies from the allotment rents would be used to cover this.
There is an Open Church weekend beginning of September when Welton Church would be open, and the Village Hall committee would be meeting shortly to discuss Queens Jubilee Events.

These were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
34 UPDATES
Minute 21,26 & 27 – Litter pickers, no dog fouling signs and wheelie bin stickers purchased.
Minute 27 – The Clerk had ordered the new backing plate from Unipart
Cllr Tucker asked about purchasing “O” rings for holding litter bags when picking and it was Resolved that 6 rings be purchased.
Cllr Holiday had been approached by a member of the public regarding the picnic table in the copse and it was agreed to look at the price of replacement picnic table for the area (next agenda)

Notice had been placed in the notice board but no applications to date.

37 QUEENS JUBILEE 2022
Discussion held on events that could be held including treasure hunt (potentially leading through church, along footpath to the copse); street party on Beck Lane (potentially requiring road closure) and event at Wheel Inn. Cllrs Holiday and Bradley to lead.

There were no applications
39 CORRESPONDENCE
LCC/ELDC looking for volunteers to help identify local assets of interest (areas mentioned including relic of old poachers tunnel, castle mound and roman remains)
Transport Engagement Survey – noted
Clerks and Councils Direct
Potential for trees – it was noted that LCC had refused consent for additional trees to be planted along Mill Lane due to ongoing maintenance costs and it was agreed not to look to apply for additional trees
River/Water Courses – agreed most people living alongside the Beck kept their areas clear. Concern at some dykes being overgrown.
40 ANY OTHER ITEMS/ITEMS FOR NEXT AGENDA
The clerk was asked to contact Cllr Davy (LCC) to ask why LCC not keeping footpaths safe in light of Government’s drive to encourage walking.
Clerk was asked to write to MP to ask about grant given for feasibility study to open old railway lines when Parish Councils not informed, particularly when old railway lines ran through parishes. Concern as to purpose of re-opening lines – passenger or freight.
