MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
HELD 20TH May 2024
Present: Cllr Williams (Chairman); Cllrs Hardcastle, Tong, Holiday; Crome; Faulkner-smith (as members of the public).

4 other members of the public.
1. The Chairman welcomed all and opened the public meeting.
2. Minutes of the meeting held 9th May 2023
It was resolved that these be signed by the Chairman as a correct record.
3. UPDATE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
The Chairman gave a brief update on Council business over the past 12 months which included an upgrade to the speed device to install a solar panel, successful application for grant funding for the Village Hall to purchase equipment (£1929) (with thanks to Cllr Tong for his work in obtaining the funding), decision taken not to proceed with a Neighbourhood Plan, decision taken not to proceed as a Council corporate body with Neighbourhood Watch, consultations responded to on various planning applications, objection sent to Misty Meadows application for increased lodges and further objection sent to Appeals Inspector on the application and objection sent in response to National Grid’s proposal for pylons in the area. He thanked all councillors for their work in the parish and their work on the Parish Council.
The Clerk gave a brief update on the financial situation –
Brought forward from 22/23 £11450.00
Income 23/24 £ 6815.00
Expenditure 23/24 £ 6778.00
Balance to carry forward £11487.00
Of that the following is ring fenced:
Elections £ 678.00
Allotments/Poor Land £ 1765.00
Covid grant residue E 430.00
Defib consumables £ 899.00
Leaving £ 7714.00 as Parish Council funds

4. QUESTIONS
A member of the public thanked all councillors for their work.
Neighbourhood Watch – it was noted there is now a Facebook group for the village where contributors are able to warn of any suspicious activity in the village.
Grant funding – It was agreed to look to apply for further funding if this becomes available. Still a small amount left to spend, and all receipts retained.
Trustee (s) required for Village Hall – Cllrs Tong and Hardcastle expressed interest.
Defib – Cllr Hardcastle taken on the role to manage this and will arrange inspections and update “The Circuit”.
Street party ? It was agreed that as there was no National event to warrant a street party obtained necessary consent for street closures would be difficult. However, there were plans to hold a village Fete in the Village Hall and grounds.
