MINUTES OF THE ORDINARY MEETING
HELD 11th August 2026

During the public session members were brought up to date with events held at the Village Hall – a successful Hog Roast event was held recently which raised some £300, lunch club has restarted and there is a quiz night every 2 weeks.

25 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
Cllr Holiday declared a personal interest in agenda item 10b as an allotment holder.
26 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 23RD JUNE 2026
It was resolved that the Chairman sign these as a correct record of that meeting.
27 UPDATES
The Clerk had reported the fly problem to ELDC.
28 UPDATES ELDC/LCC REPRESENTATIVES
Members welcome Cllr D. Brooks from Lincolnshire County Council. He and Cllr Eyre ELDC) gave a brief update on the current reorganisation plans – Lincoln City and its immediate neighbouring parishes to be one Unitary Authority, North Lincs another, North East Lincs another and the rest of Lincolnshire one large Unitary, comprising of only 100 councillors to represent all the areas involved. Planning would change, no call in process now and applications mainly will be dealt with under Officers Delegated Powers.
Concerns were raised regarding cleaning of water courses, rivers etc., Drainage Board had cleared their watercourses but were hindered by delays from Environment Agency who were not clearing their waterways.
The state of Beck lane was raised, Cllr Brooks agreed to look into this but asked all to report on Fix My Street.
LCC will be doing a legal challenge against pylon route once National Grid had finalised their plans, and had raised judicial review on a recent solar panel development.
29 FINANCE
It was resolved that the following accounts be paid:
Clerks salary & PAYE (July/August) £350.22
R. Aldrich grass cutting & strimming £ 82.00
30 DEFIBRILLATOR
Discussion on the quote received to move the defib from the pub to the village hall - £498.38. It was agreed to obtain 2 further quotes.
It was also resolved that the unit should be relocated to the Village Hall due to uncertainties around the sale of the public house.
31 VILLAGE HALL MATTERS
Cllr Holiday had been trying to obtain advice on a new lease from Village Hall advisor who felt that proof needed to be given that the hall belonged to the parish Council. Discussion followed on how necessary this was in order to formulate a new lease, and it was agreed that written confirmation that the hall committee wished to dissolve the current lease and renegotiate was needed in order to proceed further. It was also agreed that the Clerk contact Land Registry to obtain copies of the deeds.
There had been no response to a facebook advert for a cleaner for the hall.
32 ALLOTMENTS
a) It was resolved that the Clerk reply to the Charity Commission along the lines of the report circulated to members to redefine the terms of the charity and the outcomes to enable the CC to be satisfied that the use would still be in the best interests of the beneficiaries.
b) Cllr Holiday confirmed he had a key to the shed and was wating for an owl nest to clear.
He also stated he had been contacted by a group wanting to rent the unused allotments and turn them into a nature reserve. To send details to the Clerk for the next meeting.
33 ANY OTHER MATTERS
Overgrown hedge on Gunby Road – Cllr J. Faulkner-Smith volunteered to speak to owner.
